Unterart zu Art erhoben (Triturus)?

Halli Hallo alles zusammen,

heute habe ich auf Caudata.nl gelesen, dass die Unterart Triturus carnifex macedonicus in den Artstatus erhoben werden soll (laut Vorschlag). Ob das Sinn macht weiß ich nicht. Wer sich selbst ein Bild machen möchte:
